AOP Crozes-Hermitage

Limpid aspect, deep crimson purple and violet colour ; expressive nose, spicy, fruity and crystallized : vanilla, and havana, cocoa, Zan, black cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry.
Grape varieties: 100% Syrah
Age of the vines: 20 - 40 years
Terroir: Alpine diluvium composed of large pebble stones on a 50 to 80 cm surface area with presence of coarse sands and red clay.
Winemaking: 3 to 4-day cold pre-fermentation maceration (6° C), alcoholic fermentation at 30° - 32° C with daily pumping over and crushing, 12 to 20-day hot maceration (30° C) then hot running off in barrels from 2 to 6 wines (malolactic fermentation in barrels), then 12-month maturing in barrels before bottling at the following autumn.
Tasting: Limpid aspect, deep crimson purple and violet colour ; expressive nose, spicy, fruity and crystallized : vanilla, and havana, cocoa, Zan, black cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry. Full on the mouth, cordial, fruity ; well- balanced with fine and tonic tannins conferring a beautiful length.

Serving temperature: between 15°C and 16°C
Ageing potential: 4 to 7 years
